LAKE BALATON&HÉVÍZ: The city of Keszthely is located in the northern west end
of Lake Balaton, on the shore of
One of the biggest lakes in Central Europe. The city is surrounded by forests and rolling hills
to the north, plains to the south east and the lake.
Keszthely is a Hungarian city of 20,895 inhabitants located on the western shore of Lake
Balaton. It's the largest city by the lake and one of the more important cultural, educational
and economic hubs in the region. Due to its favourable location and accessibility by both road
and rail, Keszthely and the surrounding area is a preferred holiday destination.
A city of grand town houses perched at the very western end of Lake Balaton, is one of the
loveliest spots to stay, and far removed from the tourist hot spots on the lake. You can dip in

its small, shallow beaches by day, absorb its lively yet relaxed ambience by night and get a
dose of culture by popping into its handful of museums and admiring its historical buildings.
Whatever you do, don't miss the Festetics Palace, a lavish baroque home fit for royalty.
Unlike other towns along the lake, Keszthely is a university town and therefore stays awake in
winter.
Keszthely is very close to some northern Balaton wine regions which are known to produce
high quality white wines from locally cultivated varieties.
The whole area is easily accessible by car from both Budapest, the capital of Hungary,
and  Vienna , the capital of  Austria . Direct bus services between Keszthely and Budapest run
several times a day.
Hévíz is a  spa  town in Zala County, Hungary, about 8 kilometres from  Keszthely .The town is
located near Hévíz lake, the world’s second-largest thermal lake. It provides facilities for
visitors seeking to use the medicinal waters of the lake.
Wander around the small town centre of Heviz and you will find a pedestrian area full of
shops as well as cafés and a market.
SOUTHER HUNGARY, is a varied landscape with flat terrains stretching between green
hills, and valleys, lies south of Lake Balaton, the Danube bordering it on the west and the
river Dráva on the south. Somogy, Baranya, and part of Tolna counties make up this region.
This area offers visitors many activities including historic cities and sights, thermal baths,
hiking, horse riding, folk traditions, cultural programs, food and wines.
The warm, temperate climate with lots of sunshine make this region a popular tourist
destination within Hungary.
The centre of the region is undoubtedly Pécs a 2000-year old town with relics from the
Roman Era, Turkish mosques and a graceful minarette built by the Turks in the 16th
century.
The cathedral dominates the centrum at Széchenyi tér where you can see stone carvings from
the early Middle Ages.
Cafés and restaurants line the charming winding streets where you can enjoy the
simultaneously relaxing and energetic atmosphere of the city while sipping a cup of coffee.
Szigetvár saw the heroic sacrifice of Hungarian soldiers lead by Miklós Zrínyi defending the
castle against the Turkish army. A couple of monuments marks the time of Turkish
occupation: The Ali Pasha djami, a Turkish dwelling house, the only one of its kind in
Hungary.
Kaposvár is halfway between the Mecsek Hills and Lake Balaton. The main attraction of the
town lies in its buildings representing a variety of architectural styles: neo-Romanesque and
neo-Gothic church, or the Classicist Town Hall. Many talented Hungarian actors and
actresses play at Csíki Gergely Theatre.
BUDAPEST

PÉCS & DEBRECEN
Budapest is the capital of Hungary – a modern European city. Budapest is an ideal place for
investing in property, engaging in entrepreneurial activities, and for permanent residence.
Beyond Budapest, we recommend the Hungarian university towns of Pécs and Debrecen –
each with a diverse history. Their universities, colleges, and flourishing tourism offer solid
opportunities for those wishing to rent out properties. Pécs and Debrecen are also popular
places to reside – with their beautiful historic architecture, entertainment venues, and varied
shopping facilities – all without the disadvantages of the urban sprawl of larger cities. It is
foreseen that Pécs and Debrecen’s property values will continue to rise significantly. In light
of this trend, it is time to consider investing in these towns.
